Ditto back on in Aus! Next time would be nice if Apple at least acknowledged the issue.

I am not complaining! I just want my ATV to work with iTunes and it doesn't! It can only access You Tube! And no one seems to be able to help!

agreed! I can't seem to get a response from Apple. I bought the ATV to get iTunes movies. It has no other function for me!

It's working in the UK now at last. It's slow accessing the store but a retry fixes this.

I **** up I can live with, just glad it was not apple trying to sell more hardware.

Back working ATV1 100% access to iTunes Store and downloaded season pass episodes that were available. Looks like the Easter break delayed the fix but happy it was only a glitch, can look forward to upgrading if and when Apple TV 4 comes out.

    welcome noel
" stations streams are working ok from a copied playlist" actually a great idea! I might start working on a radio playlist in itunes too and sync it over to our ATV. cheers

    Yes and Hi!.

I didn't mention that if you find an Internet Radio stream you like from anywhere else on the net and can get it's url (usually a Shoutcast stream or something like that) you can add that to the playlist too, so you're not restricted to what Apple offers.

I know it's not most peoples' main interest with the ATV but I'm a classical music fan and that's been my motivation with it.  It does the same job as some hifi devices that cost up to $2,000!

Hey all glad to hear up running again. Can someone explain the work around on the internet radio? Has this been fixed as well?

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi all,

Turned it on last night and everything was back. I believe that Apple has fixed the server issue at least from Chicago. I dd not do anything to the one ATV, just waited this out.

    Back up here in London.

But, just rented a film for the kids and the download speed is chronic.

Connection running at full tilt, Apple download very slow...

    Re: Radio

It's not fixed as far as I can see. Not on mine anyway.

If you look in iTunes on your computer under the Music/Internet menu items there is a list of all the radio stations under their various categories from Adult Contemporary through to 90's Hits. It's the same list that used to show on the ATV.

For the sake of illustration click on the Adult Contemporary category and have a look at the first entry "A-1 Adult FM" (I'm not sure I want to know what that station is broadcasting but that's kinda irrelevant to the method).

If you highlight that entry and then go to the iTunes/File/Get Info menu item you'll see a window that pops up with all the info about that readio stream including where it comes from, in this case the url is www.a1adultfm.com/listen.pls

That's a link to the website run by the radio station where the stream comes from. The ATV Radio menus are/were the same. They are just pointers to elsewhere.

You can duplicate the list from iTunes onto your ATV by creating a playlist in iTunes (on your computer), selecting the stations you want or all of them if that appeals, copying them into the playlist and then sync that to your ATV under ITunes/ATV/settings/music/playlists. The instructions I was following said to create a smart playlist rather than an ordinary one but I'm not sure that is necessary. Make sure "show playlists" is turned on under settings on your ATV also.

The interface on the ATV won't be quite the same. It still won't show the original Radio menus but you'll see whatever you chose under Radio/Playlists and it's exactly the same radio streams.

Hope that works for you also.

Back to normal here in Quebec. Maybe those who panicked, threatened... should wait a little next time before gatting out the artillery...
