Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5639
Can I use a downloaded (ISO) version of Windows with Boot Camp?
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 and later), MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 and later, including Retina models), Mac mini (Mid 2011 and later), and iMac (Late 2012) can install downloaded (ISO) versions of Windows 7 and 8.To determine if your Mac supports this feature:
- Click the Go menu and choose Utilities.
- Open Boot Camp Assistant.
- Click Continue. If you see a "Create a Windows 7 or later install disk" checkbox, your Mac supports the use of downloaded (ISO) install images. See the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide for more information.
I hope this information helps ....

Apr 15, 2014 12:31 PM in response to judysingsby billbennettnz,That;s not much help, I'm working through that process with a 64-bit Windows .iso when Boot Camp tells me my .iso is NOT 64 bit. Just to check I tried an oider 64-bit .iso and saw exactly the same message.

Apr 15, 2014 1:43 PM in response to turbostarby billbennettnz,I've tried X17-24209 and X17-58997 which are both supposed to be Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I get the same error with both which suggests it may not be a problem with the .iso. Still, it won't hurt to try a third one.
I was wondering if there's a non-Boot Camp Assistant way of moving the right files to the Windows partition as I suspect there could be something wrong with the way Boot Camp looks at the isos.

Apr 22, 2014 1:10 PM in response to judysingsby billbennettnz,I fixed it in the end. The problem was having a external back-up drive in one of the USB ports. When I took it out and tried again it worked.
