    Did you upgrade from a pre-10.8 version, or from an earlier 10.9.x version?

    What version of Word (or Office) did you have installed?

     

    If you were running the 2004 version of Word (or Office) on (for example) Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), you will need to upgrade Word (or Office) to the 2011 version.
