Q: my iphone4 seems to have died its in recovery mode with error 2001

My sons Iphone4 has stopped working and is in recovery mode and displays error 2001 . I cant seem to do anything with it and when apple send me a diagnostic email it will not open.

Any suggestions please

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.1
