Oct 7, 2013 4:18 PM in response to Connor87by GeekBoy.from.Illinois,It sounds like your or your friend had gotten hit by the "iMessage bug" that Apple has confirmed. They state it is only impacting a fraction of a percent of the iPhone users (which means it could be over 90,000 iphone users since 9 million were sold recently). I would have both you and yoru friend restart your iPhones (hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears - it shoudl take about 10-20 seconds) then wait for the iPhone to restart and try sending an iMessage again.

VideoThe problem is with your friend's iphone not yours. I would imagine (not saying for sure) that your friend is on a PAYG simm and has no credit left for internet use which is how you send and receive iMessages. Tell him/her to send you an iMessage, if he/she cannot do that, tell him/her to put some credit on the phone.

VideoOh... This might sound stupid but you never know.. It does help if your friend is also using an iPhone and not some other smartphone.

Videoone more thing I've just thought of, it is your friend's phone, so make sure he's got 3G and mobile data turned on in settings.

Jul 23, 2016 4:13 PM in response to GeekBoy.from.Illinoisby Weesie42,I had this problem, too and did what you suggested....reset my phone with both buttons, then go to settings and reset network settings. This also works when the phone drops cellular connection out of the blue. (General>reset>reset network settings)
