Q: can not add my new Canon MF4700n to my printers list. I have an iMac OSX v9.2 Maverics

can not add my new Canon MF4700n to my printers list. I have an iMac OSX v9.2 Maverics

I have updated everything from apple software, but there is no printer driver shown for this particular printer. I have also tried to download software from Canon but still I can't print - spent two days on this problem!!!

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I have tried some of these suggestions and before I got your posting, I exchanged the printer for a Brother mono printer (no scan or fax) and it installed without a problem.

Try resetting the Printing System, then Add the printer again:

If the Canon MF4700 is not appearing in the list of printers then a restart of the Mac can often resolve this issue.

If that does not help then open Finder and select Go > Go to Folder. Then copy the following line and paste that in the window and press the Go button.

/Library/Printers/Canon/

Do you see a folder called CUPSMF?
