Dreamweaver is well known to create some problems after system updates. Make sure you use the latest version:
Some applications do not run after upgrading Macintosh OS X versions

I have the latest DW update, and it occurs with plenty of other programs including Finder anyway.
I will, however, try trashing the plist files and checking the login items when i get home and see if that makes any difference.
