Q: i am having a issue using my mac to watch a film on the tv

i have not changed my set up , HD cable and HD adapter for mac. The issue i have once plugged in my screen goes small on the computer and the tv screen is blank , could anyone help

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

    Check the System Preferences to make sure mirroring is setup.

     

    OS X: Using multiple displays in Mavericks

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5891

     

    1. Make sure your additional display is properly connected and powered on.
    2. From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
    3. From the View menu, choose Displays.
    4. Click the Arrangement tab.
    5. Enable (check) "Mirror Displays" in the bottom-left corner of the Arrangement pane.
