Q: Cannot play Photo JPEG mov files on Windows 7 64-bit

Hi folks,

I have a bunch of Quicktime .mov files I need to edit into a personal reel, but when I open them in Quicktime on my computer the video is black. On the Quicktime Movie Inspector the video codec shows up as Photo JPEG 12-bit. But when I look at the file in MediaInfo the video format shows up as 'jf12'. (Is this a code for Photo JPEG 12-bit?) Is there anything I can do to view/transcode these?

Thanks!

Oh, and sometimes a message pops up saying "additional software is needed to play this back" and pops me to the Quicktime Components downloads page. But I have no clue what to do from there.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the same problem but I'm on a Mac. I can't get my .mov files to play at all. They are a jf12 codec.

I cant find any info on the web about the jf12 codec.

Thanks or any help you can provide!
