Q: Music on Apple TV not in my iTunes

I usually use the Apple TV menu option "Computer" to play iTunes music, with the iTunes app open on my computer. Yesterday I selected the Apple TV menu option "Music" instead. I was surprised to see the same content . . .sort of. Under "Purchased", I saw some music files that I have been searching my computer and iTunes library for and could not find. Particularly one CD that I KNEW I had purchased, but for the life of me I can't locate. I have used the option in my iTunes app, to make sure I've downloaded all purchased files to my library, and it says I'm up to date, that nothing is missing. So my question is:

  1. Where is the Music menu getting that info if I can't even access it on my computer (this is music I purchased about 4 years ago, btw, prior to even getting or using Apple TV, so no I did not purchase directly from my Apple TV, if that's even possible)?
  2. How can I access my iTunes account library, other than in files on my MacBook (and I followed all the steps for retrieving missing music, it's nowhere on my system)?

Thanks.

    Hey ho,

I am not sure if you have already checked your past purchase page. Checking for "available downloads" in iTunes will only download purchases, you haven't already downloaded yet.

You can try to locate the missing music using the past purchase menu in iTunes Store.

If the music isn't displayed here, maybe it is hidden. You can unhide your purchases in your account information. Please select "Store" > "account" and enter your password. Under the subject "iTunes in the Cloud" you should find a menu "hidden purchases" or something. Unhide the music and you should see it on the past purchases like described.

    Hope this is helpful.
