May 3, 2014 6:57 PM in response to Badrakumarby Limnos,Specifics please. In what context? Music sales? Converitng files now, and if so, at what resolution?
If it is something not yet establised already by looking at available settings on iTunes such as music sales, we have no idea what Apple plans and speculation is not allowd on the forums.

May 3, 2014 6:58 PM in response to Badrakumarby ed2345,iTunes supports high res audio. A few releases ago they added playback support for higher sample rates (up to 192 kHz) and sample sizes (up to 24), which can be set at Edit > Preferences > Playback.
Just in case you are asking about the iTunes Store, they do not sell hi-res audio, but there are other places to buy hi-res downloads, including hdtracks.com, itrax.com, and http://store.acousticsounds.com/superhirez .

Sep 2, 2016 7:34 AM in response to Badrakumarby InternetMin,iTunes can play hi-res audio. The two primary issues are going to be:
- Making sure you have the appropriate hi-res audio files in the proper format
- Making sure your Mac is configured to output in hi-res in the MIDI app
You can see step-by-step instructions here: https://pooraudiophile.com/2016/02/how-to-play-high-resolution-audio-with-apple- itunes.html on how to configure iTunes and your Mac to play hi-res music files.
If you have FLAC files, you can also see here https://pooraudiophile.com/2013/03/converting-flac-to-apple-lossless-for.html how to convert them to ALAC. iTunes cannot play FLAC files natively. You can play DSD files but you need a supporting app.
