I have connected my Macbook Pro to my samsung TV with HDMI and DVI cables.  I see the mirror image of my computer screen on my TV. However, when selecting 'sound', the only option I am given is 'internal speakers' in output. No other device appears here to enable me to hear sound coming from my TV.

    Thanks for your response, Pennbank.

From what I understand, when I hook up my computer to my TV, the only thing I need to do, (in order for audio to be transmitted from my TV) is to 'select a device for sound output' in System Preferences. But my computer does not read or register at all that it is connected to any device. The picture is all there on my TV and the connection is there, but it is not showing me any other option to select for sound other than Internal Speakers. Here is a screen grab. The sound from my TV is totally fine when I watch it. Are you saying I might need to make an adjustment in my TV setting? Screen shot 2014-05-05 at 3.06.02 PM.png
