Q: G3 Lombard PowerBook Wireless Networking

OK, so I have 4 Macs and 1 PC in my household, they're all up on the net via a linksys router, except one...

That's the 400 MHz G3 PowerBook running OS X 10.2.8. It's being used away from the router where a cable is not available. I need to get this thing up and running on the WiFi/AirPort.

I found a great deal on a 802.11b PCMCIA (PC Card) Linksys WPC11 ver. 4 but it does not work! If I try to boot it up with it plugged in, I get lines across the gray screen, and it does not boot. If I try plugging it in while OS X is running, I get a Kernal Panic!!!!

So what's the deal? BTMBASS says he has a lombard with a linksys PC card:
