Q: G3 Lombard PowerBook Wireless Networking

OK, so I have 4 Macs and 1 PC in my household, they're all up on the net via a linksys router, except one...

That's the 400 MHz G3 PowerBook running OS X 10.2.8. It's being used away from the router where a cable is not available. I need to get this thing up and running on the WiFi/AirPort.

I found a great deal on a 802.11b PCMCIA (PC Card) Linksys WPC11 ver. 4 but it does not work! If I try to boot it up with it plugged in, I get lines across the gray screen, and it does not boot. If I try plugging it in while OS X is running, I get a Kernal Panic!!!!

So what's the deal? BTMBASS says he has a lombard with a linksys PC card:

Hi, MIKEatGAGOSdotnet...

I have had wonderful experiences with my lombard and a Belkin F5D7010 PCMCIA card. I bought one, and from the first moment I inserted it, the AirPort menu showed up on my Menu bar. This card is 100% compatible with the built-in AirPort software that comes with Mac OS X.

The catch is, though, that only the revision 1315 card is compatible with Mac OS X, as far as I know. This may have changed since I bought the card, but so far, I haven't seen anything else.

I can also confirm the version 1212 of the Belkin F5D7010 card working.

After some more research I found a company that sells the hardware WITH some REGISTERED third party software that helpds with the software version issues.
