Q: Unending password prompts from all AppleApps at startup

Everytime I have to restart my MacBookPro (a year old, clean system no shareware addons), I get popup prompts from all appleapps (mail, calander, icloud, message, safari, photostream, aperture, itunes etc.) that they want to use my keychain password, then ask me what the flippin password is!!!!!!!!!!!  They can not be dismissed no matter how often i hit cancel they keep coming back even after the system and startups have booted.  I should say that even though everything is loaded not one thing can be used because of those system prompts continuning round and round.  It would almost be ok but that they all need that password entered over and over (I have counted 25 different requests). It started after a crash a while back and nothing I do has helped. None of my other Macs what the piece of overbloted window clone "mavricks" on them have this problem, Pro, MacBookPros, and Minis, other "mavricks" issues galore but not one that makes them an expensive paperweight like this problem does.  Those deal little smarties at the MacBarf dont even know what's causing it, does anybody here?

Thanks

In your System/iCloud preference pane do you have Keychain selected?

    If it is uncheck it.

OR, have you tried entering your Keychain password and see if that will stop the repeated requests?

    Hi,

It could be the lack of the second setting here

If this is not set then changing your Login password for the Mac does not unlock the Keychain on Start up and it will ask all the time.

nope, not that they were reset lonnnnnnnggggg ago, did nothing.  and since there is no reinstal cd for this dog of a horse os.  one has to be able to actually use the computer, as long as those input dialogs keep coming and coming and coming nothing at any level can be used nothing can be opened, there is no access to my local network by ethernet or wifi.  I have a 2500. door stop. have reset pram, vram, and assram, nothing helps.  even the first version of os7 wasn't this bad.  i know that the settings you all linked to are that way because I put screenshots of the old and new settings on a seprerate drive. When I have beeen able to get into it (after spending several hours putting my password in) I've compared it to the other macs I have inflicted os-horse on that don't present this particular problem, all the settings are exactally the same.  I repeat there are no utilites or programs on my horse macs that were not part of the horse install. oh for the days of os9 rock solid, never had a crash in the 4 years I used it for all macs, and to this day on the 2 G5 Towers it still runs on.

Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair both the disk and disk permissions.  Reboot normally.

    hi,

Could you tell us more about the Crash that your mentioned in the opening post ?

As you saw from my pic the default is that the Login keychain and the Login itself have the same password.

I actually have my Mac set to open in my User account straight-away and don't use a Login Password in that sense.

If you open an Finder window and use the Go Menu > Go to folder and enter ~/Library/Keychains can you highlight the Login one.

Now do a Get Info (CMD + i keys together)

In the Info panel at the bottom are you listed ?

If you highlight that shortname for you User account does it have Read and Write Permissions ?

If you now use the cogwheel type icon is the phrase to make you the owner greyed out ? (i.e already done)

In the top section is it Locked ?

If you don't already can you go to the View menu in the Finder  > Show Path Bar.

Right click the Keychains folder icon at the bottom of the window and select Get Info from the drop down.

Does the folder have Read and Write Permission and is it Owned by you ?

Repeat for the Library folder itself.
