Q: Resetting iPad

I have changed the email address that is associated with my AppleID, but on my iPad I still have the old email address. I would like to reset my iPad, but I am being asked to enter the password for the old email address that was previously associated with my AppleID, in order to sign in to iCloud. When I tried to delete the iCloud account from the iPad, I was asked, again, for the pswd of the old email and was told that I cannot delete this account without logging in to this email, as the option "Find My iPad" had been assotiated with this iCloud account. The old email that I am being asked to enter a pswd for (1) does not exist, anymore, and (2) my AppleID is now associated with a new email address. How can I reset my iPad in this case and set it up with the new email address of my AppleID account?

iPad, iOS 7.1.1

Did you enter the password for the old ID anyway? It doesn't matter of the email address exists or not, you still need to enter the password that used to be associated with your old ID if you want to delete the old iCloud account

try signing into the old ID in Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID. After you sign in with the old ID try deleteing the iCloud account.

    iCloud

iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.

    • If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.

    • If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:

      1. Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
      2. Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

Thanks for responding. It did not accept the pswd for my old AppleID (I am pretty sure it is the correct pswd). For this reason, I cannot sign into my old AppleID. I had not signed off my account on the iPad before changing my AppleID. It does not allow me to delete the iCloud account associated with the old email address, as it has "Find My iPad" turned on, and, as I said, it does not recognize the password I am entering. I am wondering whether I was blocked to access the account, as I have tried to do it several times.
