My iPhone5 only rings 3 times. I need it to ring ~6-8 times before it goes to vmail. How do I adjust the ringer duration?

You can't adjust that yourself. You'll need to call your carrier and ask that they extend the ringing time (it's adjusted in seconds, not number of rings).
