Q: Added songs to library now disk is full
New to itunes and something strange has happened. Running a mac mini and I have a boot drive (250GB) and an internal storage drive (1TB) with all my mp3 (300GB) on it. I tried to add all my mp3s into the itunes library but they wouldn't fit and now my boot drive is full but I can't see where. It seems that itunes copied the files to the boot drive rather than just reading them off the storage drive. When I go to the users folder I can see that it's maxed but when I add up all the individual folders it doesn't add up. The music folder doesn't have anything in it. Did itunes add music files to my disk? Where the heck are they?
Thanks
Mac mini, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

When you add a file to iTunes it copies it from the location of the file to the place designated in the preferences as the media storage location. This is usually a media subfolder in your iTunes folder which in turn is usually part of your user directory on the boot volume. The exception is if you add a file to iTunes using the Automatically Add To iTunes folder, in which case as long as the file is on the same drive as the media location it moves it to the location.
