Q: How can I save a scanned document after updating to Mavericks?

Thanks, but I want to save multiple pages into one  PDF document, and image capture only does JPEG and only 1 page. Can you tell me how I can do that.  Did you read my whole post? I cant save the scanned file.

I already know how to scan with HP and Mavericks-its just not working right. I cant save the scanned file.

Thanks.  I finally got it.  Image capture does save to PDF and can save multiple pages to one document.  You need check the box  'combine into single document ' and keep the scan to: and Name: the same between pages. Its just as easy after a little practice. No need to buy a new printer!

Having problems again. Using exact same method (image capture) it only works about half the time. The other half it scans, but won't save.  Help! Please!

Thanks for the reply.  I tried to take down my question  after 5min because I figured it out and felt like a fool.  But maybe this will help someone else.  I realized that it wasn't saving because nothing was selected-even though I could see the whole image.  When I checked select all in edit (purely using trial and error method of trying to solve the problem) then I saw the little dashes and dots all the way around the image (like when cropping a photo) and I knew that was the problem.  It worked fine after that.  Not sure why it doesn't auto select all, but no problem now that I know thats the issue.
