Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I'd like you to follow the helpful instructions in the following support article to help resolve the issue you're experiencing with the Bluetooth on your iPad.

May 14, 2014 11:26 AM in response to alex_h1by garygladstone,Hello, Alex:
Thanks for the suggestions but after completing all te steps offered the conditions still exists. The first 20 seconds of any video stutters so badly that the dialog is incomprehensible. Then it recovers (leaving me without the introductory remarks.)
The word "stuttering" as a descriptive condition is not mentioned in any of the selected materials mentioned in your links which suggests that we may not talking about the same thing.
The stuttering is at the start of any video online from any site and returns again when trying to replay the video after a faulty start which suggests that i may not be an immediate buffering issue.
The device has been paired and forgotten and everything else restarted or reset to no vail.
After the stuttering zone, the device works perfectly for hours. I just need the opening of any playing media to understand what the following dialog is about.
I've turned off all the other Bluetooth devices and computers to no avail.
Still stuck having to use a hardwire.

May 14, 2014 11:31 AM in response to garygladstoneby alex_h1,Hi Gary,
Did you also do a software restore as it says at the bottom of the article?
If your device is still experiencing issues
If the steps above have not resolved the Bluetooth behavior you are experiencing, perform a software restore in iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your iOS device in iTunes, contact Apple for support and service options.
iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections

If not, please continue with doing that software support, and as the article states if the issue continues to persist you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action
Take care,
Alex H.

May 14, 2014 12:27 PM in response to alex_h1by garygladstone,Hi, Alex:
The reason why I didn't do a restore was because of all the caveats I have heard and read both here and on other forums about unexpected consequences. I am not an electronics "natural" so if I discover things that are expected to operate in the future, I won't be able to dig up solutions without hiring my Mac guy to un$cramble me.
BUT, I started to do it and a screen popped up in the process saying:
"There are purchased items on the iPad “Gary 's iPad” that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. If you restore this iPad, these items will be erased and you will have to purchase them again. Are you sure you want to continue?"
That's the kind of warning that leaves me wondering:
A) How do I discover those items prior to the restore and
B) If I can't discover in advance, then how do I know what resources I have to replace (and possibly pay for again?) after they're zapped into oblivion? (Why isn't that info included in the warning?)
Thanks again

May 15, 2014 1:58 PM in response to alex_h1by garygladstone,O.K.
I did a software restore and it did nothing to correct the stuttering condition on the iPad.using my new BT speaker. It still stutters for the first 20 seconds of any video.
I tested that speaker device with the iMac and there was no stuttering at the startup of any video. The device works and the iMac works.
So, the issue is still apparently located just in the iPad.
Very discouraging,,,

Jul 7, 2014 8:58 AM in response to garygladstoneby garygladstone,Well, six weeks later and the situation hasn't changed.
I've done all the suggested cleanups to no avail.
I'm curious if any others have had this problem and have a solution?
The small Bluetooth speaker stutters for the first fifteen minutes of play from the iPad 2.
Doesn't stutter when used with the iMac.
Thanks, again.

Jul 21, 2015 5:27 AM in response to garygladstoneby JfromPtbo,I Have exactly the same problem too. I have found that there would be minor drops in Bluetooth ever since I bought the iPad 2, with various Bluetooth speakers.. But the problem like this one where any music stutters at the start has ben most noticeable since I upgraded to iOS 8 (Yes I have upgraded to all the iOS 8s there are with no improvement in the problem.)

Jul 21, 2015 6:05 AM in response to garygladstoneby garygladstone,OK, it's no longer a problem because I've murdered and buried the Bluetooth speakers and have resorted to an amazing new resource: a hard-wired speaker.
No stutter, no fade, no interference, no dead zones, no problems at all.
I love my new "wire!"
Done. Solved.
