May 16, 2014 6:02 AM in response to ardenm58by SoBe iPhone,It is also crashing every few minutes on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.1. I hope Apple is on top of this with a fix.soon. Perhaps more extensive beta testing by Apple would have prevented this before release.

May 16, 2014 6:18 AM in response to Vlazolby safespace53078,I am having this issue too, except not only does it crash the Podcasts app itself, but if I'm running Podcasts in the background and another app in the foreground, it will crash the foreground app, too.
iPhone 4s, iOS 7.0.4.

May 16, 2014 6:49 AM in response to Vlazolby Wizard of Livonia,It's really annoying that I can no longer listen to more than a few seconds of any podcast.
A bug fix update is needed ASAP, come on Apple get on it!

May 16, 2014 7:02 AM in response to Vlazolby codewrangler,I am having the same issue...iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1.
I tried deleting and reinstalling the Podcast App, but same thing is happening. I open it up and count for 2-3 seconds, then BOOM! App crashes and closes.
Also, I couldn't successfully sync, when it was working. I am using a MacBook Pro (late 2008) with the latest iTunes (11.2) and OSX (10.9.3).

May 16, 2014 7:08 AM in response to codewranglerby safespace53078,I had the same problem with syncing. I'm still on iTunes 11.1 (I just was informed about the iTunes update last night), but I downloaded several new podcasts into iTunes and then synced them onto my iPhone. This was prior to updating the Podcasts app.
This morning, when I go to look for podcasts that I know I downloaded and synced, they're still showing as being on the cloud. Um, no. I know they're there locally.
So this tells me that this is another malfunction in the Podcasts app.
Apple, this update was clearly not ready for prime time. You should have done more testing before releasing it. Please fix now!

May 16, 2014 7:29 AM in response to safespace53078by iamerm,I have the same issue. Just upgraded to Podcasts 2.1 on an iPhone 4S with iOS 7.1.1
I was really pleased to find that this already lousy app now consistently crashes 5 seconds after I open it. If I'm really fast I can start playing an episode & hear 1 to 2 seconds of it before the app closes.
I hate to rant but it seems like so many of us have been patient with this terrible, terrible app. I was excited because I thought this update would address some of the specific ongoing issues I've been experiencing, but, instead, it just completely blew up the app.
This app is so bad that it almost leads me to believe that someone is intentionally trying to make the enjoyment of listening to podcasts a miserable experience - especially considering everything worked perfectly fine when podcasts were integrated into the Music app. If only we could go back to the good 'ole days...

May 16, 2014 7:41 AM in response to iamermby Wizard of Livonia,Sound Jam was a wonderful app before Apple bought it and turned it into iTunes. I miss those custom skins and the ability to broadcast but now I can't even listen. This bug needs escallation to a priority level.

May 16, 2014 7:51 AM in response to Vlazolby gronesy,I have an iPad 2. App would crash after 10 seconds since upgrade. Did the delete, power down and reinstall and it seems to have fixed the crashing issue.

May 16, 2014 9:48 AM in response to Vlazolby rfwerten,Hi,
iPhone 4, 7.1.1, did the update and now Podcast closes within seconds of opening. Is there a way to restore the previous version?
