Only the carrier can authorize unlocking. You will need to contact Boost and ask about their unlocking policies if any.

    Boost does not offer unlocking.

Why would Apple sell phones to Boost knowing they resell them at nearly retail prices without telling customers they are buying an expensive paper weight unless they use the Boost network?  Boost will not unlock their phones.  I paid nearly $600 for a 5s two months ago and even though I have no contact to use Boost, I'm screwed!

Can't I get it unlocked somewhere?

For the same reason that Apple provides iPhones to many other carriers, to sell the devices.

Whether or not a carrier offers unlocking is entirely up to the carrier.  Apple has nothing to do with that decision.  Only the Government can force carriers to unlock devices or prevent them from locking them in the first place.

The price that a user pays for a device is completely irrelevant.

Any carrier will sell a user a device at full retail, all this gets the user is the freedom of not being under contract.

The only place to buy an unlocked iPhone is directly from Apple.  Buying from a carrier (with or without contract) lets the carrier decide if and when to unlock the phone.

By roaming internationally or purchase an inexpensive unlocked phone in another country along with a pre-paid SIM card.

You will get no help here in regards to hacking an iPhone, which removes the built-in security included with iOS making the iPhone as insecure as android garbage, and voids the warranty.

What does your response have to do with the original question about unlocking an iPhone?

Because I own this phone and NOT Boost Mobile, why is it that I have to be obligated to use their  poor services,

If I own a clock or watch from rolex they do not obligate me to only see the time in the area where they want us to see the time. The price of this phone is to expensive to be stuck under one service plan or company can apple please give me back my freedom of my merchandise from Boost Mobile.

There is no law that requires Boost Mobile to unlock devices sold for use on their service. If they are telling you they will not unlock the phone and that makes you unhappy, contact your congressman. There is nothing anyone else can do about it.

If your device is carrier locked to boost then only boost can authorize an unlock. It would be illegal for Apple to bypass boost and do it. Carriers lock devices, not manufacturers. And carriers have the legal right to either offering unlocking or not. So take it up with boost mobile - that is not an Apple issue.
