Q: Trouble Opening Itunes Apps

I am having trouble opening applications I downloaded from the Itunes app window. I have downloaded three apps, oovoo, spotify, and navy fed. When I double click on any of the apps, there is no response. I just started using this IMac and I bought it used. Everything seems to be working fine except for this.

The App Store located within iTunes is for downloading iOS apps only, as they are not designed to work on your computer.

Will applications run on my computer?
No. Applications are designed exclusively for use on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
