Q: Authentication broke after most reboots.

I'm getting really frustrated with Mavericks Server.  It seems like very minor patch or even a reboot breaks authentication partially.  In my case what happens is MD5 stops working for mail.  I start to see these errors in the Mail Server Error Log.

od(xxx,xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,<aml0Ypz5GADAqABt>): Could not verify credentials because directory server does not support the requested authentication method.
od(xxx,xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,<aml0Ypz5GADAqABt>): authentication failed for user=xxx, method=CRAM-MD5

If I execute the steps to rekerberize found at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT200018 authentication will start working again.   DNS is setup and checks out ok (local DNS on Mavericks box which points to itself).

Any ideas on why I have to keep doing those steps?
