Q: "Users" folder missing on Macintosh HD

Hello.

I've just updated my MacBook Pro to Mavericks 10.9.3 and iTunes to 11.2. Now my "users" folder is missing when I open my Macintosh HD. I need this folder for some Apps, so I created a temporary folder on my Macintosh HD to recieve some files and then I move them to the right folder. But I want "users" folder back again. I saw an old post about this issue, but it's too old and it's not working for me.

Can someone help me?

Thanks.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

    Update to post immediately above.

After using the terminal command - sudo chflags nohidden /Users (and deactivating Find My Mac) then rebooting the Users folder is back and seems to survive a reboot.

Shame!!! Shame for me and shame for Apple! I am a Dj, and using macbook pro for stability. I was updating mavericks before i left home and do a restart. When i open Traktor Studio for do the job my music folder was missing, my remix sets was missing and 2 other shortcuts from users folder. Do you have any ideea how hard was for me to do the same thing without my preparation....You do not want to know... The solution was to use finder drag/drop into, but I could not get same result, and that affect my job...why??why Apple move the users folder??

Please understand not eveybody is a programmer, not everyone can be able to make some changes and commands in terminal to get back users folder. Please make a quick fix for this bug !

Here's another simple way to access your hidden Users folder until Apple fixes this glitch:

Open a Finder window, and select "Show Path Bar" in the "View" menu. The Users folder will be visible in the Path Bar at the bottom of the window, right next to the Macintosh HD icon. Double click on this Users folder, and it will open to reveal its contents. Works every time, and no other action or modifications necessary.

Had the same problem upgraded to 10.9.3 and no users (home) folder on both my iMac 27 and an external bootable clone drive. Here is how I fixed it permanently.

Boot to your recovery drive. I hold down the option key and then choose recovery.

Reinstal Mac OSX. It takes a while for it to download and install, especially on both of my bootable drives, but it will install OS 10.9.3 with the older version 11.1.5 of iTunes. DO NOT update iTunes to v12. Update all other programs except iTunes and all will be normal again. Don't know what the bug is but it is definitely in iTunes not 10.9.3. Good luck.

To Apple: you have certainly fallen to new lows since Steve Jobs passed. Heads would be rolling by now, no it never would have happened. You would think the software engineers would debug these updates prior to reliease. No excuses for this crap to be happening.

Yep. And restored the Users folder for me. Hard to complain about Apple's speed in fixing this.

Apple has fixed the problem so you can stop your ranting:  iTunes 11.2.1 Fixes the Missing /Users Directory Issue for Mac OS X.

    Give Apple this one. (11.2.1)

Now if they get just as swiftly fix the external drive not sleeping with Mavericks.

I've got three Seagates, a mac ally enclosure, and two icyDock enclosures. They all sleep. I got toured of waiting for them to wake, though, so I disabled that.
