Q: Where is podcast functionality in GarageBand 10.0.0?

On the other hand maybe Podcasting was avery small part of the market using GB.

The podcast feature was very useful to tag lengthy audio tracks with markers, even if you did not need a podcast. It is really a pity that it is gone.

Yes, iWeb can make podcast webpages, but it does not support adding chapter markers to the audio or video track. You need iMovie or another GarageBand to add the markers.

And one big problem with iWeb is, that it is no longer supported by Apple. New Macs do not come with iWeb or iDVD, and Apple does not sell it any longer. iWeb pages include links to Apple's MobileMe servers, that do no longer exist since June 2012.  So you have to patch the iWeb application bundle, if you want to use it to publish blogs or podcasts, see Old Toad's great Tutorials :

Because you are using the old version of GarageBand: GarageBand 6 from 2011, compared to GarageBand X from 2013.

One simple feature. A useful feature, and Apple abandons its users again. Beginning to get ridiculous. Time to switch back, sell the stock, move to Android. Apple is beginning to exhibit the arrogance that caused the decline in Microsoft. The pendulum swings.

Too bad!!! (Mr. Cook your team is NOT paying attention to their consumer. Big mistake!)

Two things:

• Apple is not "beginning" to exibit their arrogance. They were always that way which is part of why they are so successful now.
• Microfsoft's decline wasn't caused by arrogance but by their own incompetence.

THe Apple team under Jobs didn't pay attention to their customer - ever. They payed attention to what Mr Jobs wanted and thought is good for their customers. If you pay attention, then you would notice that under Cook, Apple is paying attention more than ever. Unfortunately they don't do eveything the consumer want, including thePodcast feature in GarageBand. That's how Apple is.

Of course, the grass is always greener on the Android side where it runs on a destop machine with a great music app that has a great Poscast feature ... or does it?

Here's how to find the podcast function in GarageBand 10:

Start GarageBand > Empty Project > Audio (Record using microphone or line imput) option > Click the create buttion > select the Legacy link > then click on the link that says GarageBand> click on the link that says Podcasts.

Choose the effects you desire or no effects. Deselect the Click button at the top right hand and the 1234 buttons unless you want those effects on your recording.

Use the export to Disk function located under the share menu... Click Mp3 radio button and select the quality of the recording you desire

Sorry, but this is not the Poscast function (adding markers, adding images, etc) that was available in GB11.

What you describe is how to select various Channel Strip Settings (that are suitable for Audio Tracks when recording speech) which are now called Patches, loaded from the Library and visible in the Smart Controls Window.

Look in Applications folder for the folder GB kept for you labeled GarageBand 6.0.5 The old GB is there.

Except that you can't install the old version of Garageband if your iMac is brand-new. It has the latest version of Garageband and, while you can download the older version, you can't install it. Anyone know how?
