Q: How to export apple mail to Windows outlook 2013

Is there any possible solution available to export all my data from apple mail to windows systen in outlook 2013.

There are tons of emails that I have managed to save in the past 12 years (believe me there are a lot of them with multiple attachments) and I do not ant to loose any one of them. I Just want to move them to my windows system in outlook 2013 for which I could not find any particular solution.

On the other hand outlook 2013 is unablr to sync all my emails via Imap. It shows multiple errors which I am not able to figure out. PLease suggest any simpler method which posses minimum hassles. Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Export all of the mailboxes you wish to keep to the desktop (select a mailbox, go to the mailbox menu and choose export mailbox) It will be saved as an Mbox folder on your desktop.

A couple of years ago I had to move the entire company from Macs and Apple Mail to PCs and Outlook. I bought a tool to convert the entire Apple Mail setup including any extra user email folders and all attachments to Outlook PST files. I could then open them in Outlook.

In my case I was also switching mail servers and switching domain names. I therefore had setup forwarding from the old to new domain and server. The new server being MS Exchange did not have IMAP enabled so an IMAP copy was not an option, and there was also an account size limit. (PST files do not count towards that limit.)

    See http://www.birdiesoftware.com/convert-emlx-to-pst.html

There is a trial version available, it will only convert a limited number of emails but it proves the fact it will work.

FYI John, there are many Imap connectors for Exchange, even Microsoft supply them if needed. Exchange's default setup only installs a POP3 connector.

Exchange itself can run IMAP, my problem was that the Exchange server was run by the new parent corporation that had bought us and I had absolutely no chance of getting them to turn on IMAP support. In anycase it was not needed as converting all the old emails was sufficient for our users.

Watching this long discussion I couldn't resist myself to share my view on this topic. Once in a while I too had the same problem and I had to transfer a **** lot of emails from Apple Mail client to Windows Outlook. Imap failed and was of no use for some stupid mail crashing reason. I searched for manual work-arounds and posted many queries on various mac forum sites (including this one). I received many responses as solutions for manual process but none of them could transfer my emails from apple mail to outlook.

I knew about the email converters but never wanted to pay a single penny for them but unfortunately I had too. I bought this apple mail to pst converter mentioned by TON456 and after archiving apple mail data and moving it to windows system, it took the application only three clicks to convert the email file format to the desired one that outlook can import (i.e, .PST). I saw no point in buying the tool but its the fault of email client makers for not providing the proper import/export means (seems kind of mean to me, as they need us to stick to their client only). Big companies like apple and microsoft should figure out this situation and provide free solutions.

On the other hand if Imap crashes (as mine did too) then users like us have no options other than email converters. Though they are costly but there is no help to user in pointing out those solution posts.

To the thread starter I would suggest to go with Imap mail configuration but if it still doesn't work then using the apple mail to pst converter is only way left. Thanks.

    Hi

I would suggest you to opt for a professional Apple Mail to Outlook converter software. It’s not safest approach to convert Apple Mail to Outlook mail format using manual method. Manual method is time consuming approach and moreover it would not assure user for successful conversion without any data loss. Use Stellar Apple Mail to Outlook converter software for best results

    Hi

Do you really think S_Zinger has been waiting since May of last year for your reply?

Here is one Mac application (Mail Extractor Pro) to convert Apple Mail (both EMLX & MBOX) to PST file.
