May 21, 2014 11:30 AM in response to MrThomazby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi,
My understanding is that there are three for Intel Macs and you do have to make sure you get the right one.
However a Google Search for "Blank Board serializer" does not seem to produce a link to somewhere that is hosting all three.

May 21, 2014 2:17 PM in response to Andres Hidalgoby MrThomaz,I've finally found it! And it worked. The missing Serial is the cause of the problem. If you need the version 3T110, you can find it here (I don't speak Russian (?), but it's easy to find the link on the page): Blank Board Serializer 3T110
Ps: I was having trouble "burning" the .dmg file in the USB on Disk Utility. I only managed to do it by Terminal.

May 27, 2014 10:37 AM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by abcontigo,I was not able to burn Blank Board Serializer onto a USB key, but as I live in NYC, I walked over to TekServe here and had someone reserialize my logic board for me. I'm within the first hour since the repair, but that said, I've been able to log in with my Apple ID to Facetime and Messages and, to the best of my knowledge, sync up with my iPhone. Thanks to Ralph and all those on the Forum--very helpful discussion. I concur that Apple probably stays out of this as reserializing wouldn't be necessary for every user experiencing an issue with Facetime and Messages.

May 27, 2014 10:41 AM in response to MrThomazby abcontigo,Two questions for you: 1) Where's that link? I used one from rogersm.net that appeared previously in this thread, and I cannot for the life of me discern it admist the Russian on this page. 2) Do you have a link how to burn to a USB via Terminal? Thanks.

Jul 26, 2014 7:39 AM in response to Andres Hidalgoby p41s3r,Not any single one of the solution works for me.
I did all and everything what everyone said on the post.
I went further and delete my message folder in public file and system file
reinstalled. Nothing works still asks me to check my network and occasion it DOES work it works for a second then it asks me either check my network or cannot login with error code

Aug 5, 2014 7:32 AM in response to p41s3rby AppleQuacks420,I FOUND THE FIX!!!!!
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/IdentityServices
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. Log out or restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
Basically drag the items in the identityservices folder to trash log out, log back in, empty trash, start messages or facetime!!
GOOD LUCK!

Aug 5, 2014 1:48 PM in response to Andres Hidalgoby Baback Ashtari,I had exactly the same problem. Apple's support helped me for nearly 4 hours to check every single options. And finally it worked, by resetting NVRAM of my Mac Pro.
Also since many of you guys might have different computers, so step by step check the following link:
messages "An error occurred while activating. Try again later"
It works. Don't worry. Thanks to AppleCare guys.

Aug 27, 2014 1:41 AM in response to VisualProby teik.ng,Just wanted to share my solution regarding iMessage and Face time activation. The Activation Process has been changed!
I spent a few days trying to follow the work-around as suggested on here or google search but still failed. I went to Apple Store and have been advised that in order to activate iMessage and Facetime on MAC OSX, the apple ID is required to be verified by a code.
1. Go here to https://getsupport.apple.com/
2. or https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action
3. Select Apple ID
4. Select Apple ID and iMessage or Apple ID and Facetime (either one)
5. Schedule a free call back support - Apple will call you back and verify the apple ID before its allow you to sign in successfully.
Note, if you get a customer code in the error message while signing to iMessage, take note of that and give it to Apple Support.
Good luck.
Arik
