May 21, 2014 6:34 PM in response to The Aztecby The Aztec,Just got back from the Apple store. Here's how my trip went:
5:21pm - Arrive and check in with an employee for my 5:30pm "genius" bar appointment.
5:32pm - Overhear a "genius" telling the lady next to me that there's no way to clear up all the memory that iMessage is using up in her phone. She deleted conversations without deleting pics/videos. Common issue, simple fix. I stopped her on the way out and told her how to do it. Still waiting on my "genius"...no one has said a word from me.
5:38pm - A genius comes out and helps the guy next to me who just sat down 2 minutes ago. Still waiting on my "genius"...no one has said a word to me.
5:44pm - Another genius comes out and starts helping the couple next to me that just sat down. Still waiting on my "genius"...no one has said a word to me.
5:52pm - I take my macbook out of it's sleeve and try the download. I wanted the error message to be on the screen when someone finally got around to helping me. Guess what? It keeps downloading! Still waiting on my "genius"...no one has said a word to me.
6:02pm - download completes, close my laptop and put it back in the sleeve, walk out of the Apple store. STILL WAITING ON MY "GENIUS"...NO ONE HAS SAID A WORD TO ME.
I'm a mac savvy guy. This is the first time i've ever needed assistance with figuring out an issue. I am absolutely disgusted with my experience with today. If I wasn't so heavily invested in the ecosystem I would sell every item in my house that has an apple on it.
Oh and for those wondering what the problem with the downlaod is? I have no idea bu it seems to be something to do with the network your on. I'mnot going to spend the next 2 days troubleshooting because 1 app wouldn't download. I've DL'ed 2 other apps today and the LPX content download is running just fine as I type this. Hope no one else has the download issue. If you do then try downloading on another network.

May 21, 2014 7:38 PM in response to The Aztecby The Art Of Sound,Just out of curiosity....
What router / modem do you have at home.. and also, did you try connecting via Ethernet rather than WiFi (if that was what you were doing initially) to it as per the tips?
It's actually more likely to be your home network and issues related to your router/modem than the external nework/internet... hence my questions.. but having said that, it could also be something to do with your ISP.. routing... or the particular Apple server you were connecting to... Its just less likely... but not unheard of.

May 22, 2014 12:09 PM in response to Chotsaengby may101980,UPDATE: It finally downloaded. I got Apple to call me and to "re-add" it to my purchases and try downloading from iTunes. Needless to say none of that worked. I tried from the App Store app again this morning, and didn't work as usual. I went and made a cup of coffee, came back and tried one last time before throwing my computer out the window. And.. VOILA! Worked.
I wrote Apple and the guy personally wrote back saying glad to hear to it downloaded, they have no idea why it's happening, but it could be a bandwidth issue on their end for large apps.
Long story short: there is no fix. Just time. I tried changing my local IP, trying via ethernet cable and wifi. Logging in and out of app store, etc. nada. Just wait

May 22, 2014 12:19 PM in response to may101980by The Art Of Sound,Yes.. Im now hearing that some of the Akamai (the company Apple use for some of the external server storage and streaming) servers have been having some issues with loads and the balancing/mirroring of such data across the world..... so Im guessing that this is why these issues have been affecting the download of larger apps from the Mac App Store.... and why just trying again. and again... (which might result in you accessing a different server/routing) tends to fix it eventually.
Annoying issue for sure.. but it's happened before.. An example would be last year with Logic's additional content which is also stored on Akamai.. and that was finally resolved.... for most people after about a 2 week period of work.

May 28, 2014 2:23 PM in response to Chotsaengby Sam Burton,I was having this issue also. I solved it by trashing all Library files for the app store application. It appears that the original download got corrupted and this somehow messed up the app store itself. Deleting these files did the trick right away.
Hope that helps.
Cheers

May 28, 2014 2:36 PM in response to Sam Burtonby The Art Of Sound,Sam,
I assume you mean all Plist files for the Mac App Store application.... and not all Library files as doing that could possibly lead to many nasty issues....
Cheers..

Application Support/App Store/updatejournal.plist
Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
Saved Appliction State/com.apple.appstore.savedstate
I'm not sure which file did it but it worked!
