Q: can someone help me read my panic ?

I run my 512GB flash drive dual boot with bootcamp, and this was my latest panic today. I had one before, and I have to say that I had problems to start my computer, my computer was showing me the grey screen for some minutes until it finally booted. I did nvram/pram reset and that fixed the boot problem. Anyway here is my log from the kernel panic:

Disconnect all third-party peripherals. Uninstall RowMote that I believe installed

    com.regularrateandrhythm.driver.RowmoteIREmu          1.0

and be sure the above is removed. Uninstall any other third-party add-ons such as preference panes, etc. Then restart the computer and see if this cures the panic attacks.

    OS X- About kernel panics.

I also suggest you visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. Among other things they can also be caused by corrupted cache files. But kernel panics are most frequently the result of a hardware issue such as defective RAM. If your computer is still in warranty and these panics continue, then you should take it in for service.

Did you upgrade the Ram your self?

I think the compatible Ram for your model is

    PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Your log shows you have DDR3 1333 Mhz

I bought this as a "used" computer, so I did not upgrade the ram but the previous owner did I think. Is the 1333Mhz RAM even compatible with all the other hardware ? And did Apple deliver the late 2013 iMacs only  with the 1600Mhz Ram ?? I think the RAM might be the problem -.-

    Only ships with 1600

    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP688

As for compatibility you might want to call Apple support.

If you can afford to do so, grab a couple 1600 sticks and test.

I will call Apple tomorrow and ask them about the 1333Mhz RAM, I would say that I know some things about Hardware, and I don't see the point using 1600Mhz over "regular" 1333Mhhz RAM, the perfomance boost is not that great. And I will order a pair of 8GB 1600Mhz to test it out, but I think thats non-sense, because I was playing Battlefield 4 MP and Project Cars under Bootcamp and it ran just fine

You can also boot up is safe mode and test for a bit, to see if it's a software conflict.

Just because Windows doesn't max out the RAM doesn't imply OS X does not.

I really can't figure out what it is, I played some hours Battlefield 4 on my Bootcamp partition and went back to my "normal" MacOS partition, watched some youtube, ran some programs, iTunes ... nothing special and then out of nowhere the is this kernel panic

I booted into safe mode, but what can I see there ? Everything seems normal, no hanging, no errors at all. Maybe I have to use my System in Safe Mode for some hours to really see if there is a mayor conflict -.-

Page Faults can be a sign of bad RAM. Or, it might be something else in the hardware related to getting stuff into and out of RAM. Your issue is not related to third-party software. It is a hardware fault.

If I run Kingston's memory configurator, it doesn't suggest that "ValueRam" model for your Mac. And, reviews of that ValueRAM on Amazon indicate it has issues with various computers (not a lot, but some).

Any RAM that indicates it is some type of discount RAM doesn't mix well with Macs.

Download Rember and check the RAM. http://www.kelleycomputing.net/rember/

Safe Boot can help you identify where the problem is:

OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

Learn more about Safe Mode, a special way to start when troubleshooting.

    What is "Safe Mode"?

Safe Mode is a way to start up your Mac that performs certain checks and prevents certain software from automatically loading or opening.

Starting up in Safe Mode does several things:

    • It forces a check of the startup volume, just like the First Aid feature of Disk Utility. You may see a progress bar on the screen during this check, and the computer takes longer than usual to complete its startup.
    • It loads only required kernel extensions.
    • It disables all fonts installed by the user.
    • It moves font caches to the Trash that are stored in /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS/(uid)/  – where (uid) is a user ID number such as 501 (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
    • It disables all startup items and login items in Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
    • In Mac OS X v10.3.9 or earlier, Safe Mode opens only Apple-installed startup items (such items may be installed either in /Library/StartupItems or in /System/Library/StartupItems). These items are different from user-selected account login items.

Taken together, these changes can help resolve or isolate certain issues that exist on the startup volume.

So, if it works fine in Safe Boot, it could be a font problem, or somewhere in your startup items and login items.

I don't like your RAM configuration.  Looks like there on only three sticks mentioned in you rlatest report. Yet, your showing 4?

I don't like your RAM configuration.  Looks like there on only three sticks mentioned in you rlatest report.

That's a good point, but I think the only warning is that they should be installed in pairs for best performance.

I would certainly consider not kernel panicking "best performance," but I don't think non-paired RAM would cause a panic.

The fact that you don't see panics in Safe Mode would indicate something other than hardware, but some things do not work in Safe Mode, so the functions that are maxing out the RAM may not be triggering the kernel panic. But, that is mere supposition on my part.
