Q: Issue with restoring ipod touch 4g
So almost two years ago I let my friend borrow my iPod touch (IT WAS A BAD LIFE CHOICE AS A 14YR OLD I KNOW) and she has just found it under her bed and returned it to me. It's pretty scratched up and when I charged it, it would tell me to connect to the iTunes store instead of booting up. So I did and it said enter recovery mode and I tried but after a minute it says "iPod software update server could not be contacted, check that your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. or try again". I reinstalled iTunes, temporarily disabled Norton security, have messed with proxy servers, and have tried on another computer. About to give up and take it to an Apple Specialist but I figured I should at least ask before doing that. Could be that this iPod has just been through **** and back and is too far gone.
iPod touch, iOS 6.0.1
