May 17, 2014 9:30 AM in response to Ronj218by tomfromglasgow,I just posted the following to Apple Feedback so it will be interested to see whether they care at all or will just ignore it:
"This is the subject of much discussion from thousands and probably millions of iPhone users who are suffering calls from telemarketers which are often a form of harassment for older people.
Android provides a blocking feature but Apple has clearly chosen not to do this and is now losing customers to Android. I will be one of them unless Apple addresses this issue in the next few weeks - even if it is to announce the inclusion of the feature in the next release of IOS.
It seems it may have been present in an earlier version of IOS 7 then removed (?) which sounds like pandering to telemarketers instead of Apple customers.
Please respond to indicate Apple's official position on this."

May 17, 2014 12:15 PM in response to tomfromglasgowby Mom24monsters,I hate to state the obvious, but Apple is not going to listen to somebody who says that they need to change it or people are going to start switching to Android, when you say you're thinking about it, and even if they do change it, you'll switch anyway. They have nothing to lose if you're already going to switch. the goal for Apple would be to try to keep customers, not change for people who are going to just switch anyway, regardless of what they do. from a business standpoint, if you're saying change it, but I'm going to switch no matter what you do, your feedback is going to be ignored.

May 17, 2014 4:13 PM in response to Mom24monstersby tomfromglasgow,Ok, I'll keep this short and regardless of any follow ups this is my last input as I'm not one of those who spends their lives in these forums:
1 re-read the msg as I didn't say I would DEFINITELY leave - I only suggested if they didn'tUnknown Caller
at least respond within weeks to indicate some intended change, I'd leave. I'm an Apple fan but this issues is bigger than technology - it's about privacy
2 don't think apple will respond for one individual however they must be aware of general user feelings on this and I just wanted to add my voice to the many, otherwise I have no right to complain (like those who don't vote)
That's it from me - knock yourself out.

I shall now consider myself knocked out, while you make your mind up.

Jun 2, 2014 9:13 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby NewtoIphone2014,My Samsung Galaxy S4 had a feature that allowed me to block all unknown numbers. I only received calls and texts from my contacts list. Why can't/won't Apple do this?

Jun 2, 2014 5:26 PM in response to NewtoIphone2014by ChrisJ4203,Actually, Do Not Disturb allows you to block all calls except either Favorites, or All Contacts. You could use it the same way as you describe the Samsung action.

Jun 3, 2014 9:13 AM in response to Ronj218by ChrisJ4203,There may have been an error in settings. If you have it set for Favorites, then people in your favorites list are allowed through, if set to All Contacts, then people in your contacts list are allowed through. I know that both work, I have tested both.

Jun 3, 2014 9:57 AM in response to ChrisJ4203by Ronj218,Well I'll try again but I do all contacts either no one got through or the unknown caller or no caller id got through which I am trying to block the unknown caller or no caller id. I appreciate it I'll give it a try and make sure. because I get calls from some business or people that want money for whatever and I want not to receive calls from even though I am on a do not call list.
