You may be able to transport the video to iMovie via QuickTime Player. After opening the desired video in QuickTime Player, from the File menu, choose "Export To", then "iMovie..." Granted, the desired videos must be playable in QuickTime Player for this to work, but that should have your videos ready to go in iMovie!

what do i do to get the .mov file to iMovie
