Jun 5, 2014 10:36 AM in response to Nurse1966by peter_watt,★HelpfulIf you have Kindle versions, try Kindle app for iPad? Ipads generally store documents in the app. You dont get to see the file systems. If the documents are in the Kindle cloud store get them from there.
Generally if all else fails email one to yourself and try to "open in Kindle".
Try also File Manager app (not free) for pdf versions and look in the Inbox folder in that app after mailing to yourself. File Manager also allows you to connect the Mac to the iPad as an external drive ("WiFi Connect) . It may support other formats than pdf.

Jun 5, 2014 10:45 AM in response to peter_wattby Nurse1966,the email option worked up to a point. I can read my books in Kindle, but I still cannot save them to the library. To read them I will have to launch them from the email. Any suggestions?

Jun 5, 2014 10:53 AM in response to Nurse1966by peter_watt,Your Kindle app does not show them in the Kindle "cloud?" For download? Does that mean they were not purchased from Kindle by you? If you bought them, can you move them from within Amazon Manage my Kindle.
Or are we talking the epub versions, in which case look for third party apps that support epub.

Jun 5, 2014 11:13 AM in response to peter_wattby Nurse1966,They were not purchased from Kindle (amazon) or from Apple (iTunes). They were purchased from a third party, and I downloaded a zip file which contains both a .mobi (Kindle) and epub version. I emailed the Kindle versions to my work email and am accessing that email via Safari (not from the mail app). I am setting this ipad up for my mother and do not want to set up my personal or work email in the mail app.

Jun 5, 2014 11:46 AM in response to Nurse1966by peter_watt,I that case we cannot discuss further as the ipad owner does not officially own the book which is why neither Kindle nor Amazon can manage them. You can buy pre-owned paperbacks and share with family but not ebooks. Which means we cannot discuss it here.
