Jun 5, 2014 10:25 AM in response to peter_wattby Nurse1966,I was not entirely clear with the issue I am encountering. I opened iTunes and added the books to my library on my macbook air. I added both the Kindle and the epub versions of the book. When I try to view 'Books' from the drop down on the left, I only have Movies, Music, TV Shows, and Apps. This is where I am stuck.
In terms of iBooks, I have added the books (epub) there also and can view them on my mackbook air, but cannot 'sync' my ipad in this app.
If you can explain what I need to do for either of these options, that would be great.

refers to books purchased through Apple. I am trying to move books from a third party to the ipad.

Jun 5, 2014 10:28 AM in response to Nurse1966by Advanced User,Latest iTunes version doesn't support books anymore. iBooks is now an app. What OSX version are you running?

Jun 5, 2014 10:31 AM in response to Nurse1966by Advanced User,I mean what version of OSX (Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks...).
If you open your epub / book files into the iBooks App, you should be able to sync it to iPad using cable when doing an iTunes sync.

Jun 5, 2014 10:38 AM in response to Advanced Userby Nurse1966,my macbook air has mavericks. I have the iPad connected using the cable. but I cannot view the ipad in ibooks. I cannot find the sync option. And for that matter, I also only want to sync 4 books... not all of them

Jun 5, 2014 10:43 AM in response to Nurse1966by Advanced User,Try this:
- locate iBooks App in Mavericks
- copy your books in it
- open iTunes and connect your iPad
- from the sync menu go to books and select the titles you want to copy
- That's it
Let me know if it works for you,
Bye

Jun 5, 2014 11:33 AM in response to Advanced Userby Nurse1966,Sorry, but that would be awesome if that was it. Step One done - books are in iBooks. Step Two done - iPad is connected by cable to computer and iTunes is open. Step Three cannot be done, as Books is not an option for syncing in iTunes. I only have Music, Movies, TV Shows and Apps.
