Jan 22, 2014 8:30 PM in response to michellecoyne570by gail from maine,Hi michelle,
You are not clear on what your specific problem is. What do you mean "it's smashed"? You changed the email where? What iOS are you running? We need specifics if we are to be able to help you.

Feb 27, 2014 6:00 AM in response to the loc-manby ValerieBernhard,2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
- Sign out of iMessage or FaceTime:
- iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- Sign back in to iMessage or FaceTime:
- iMessage: Go to Settings > Messages, then tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".
- FaceTime: Go to Settings > FaceTime, then tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime".
- You should now be able to sign out of iCloud. You will still see your previous Apple ID when signing out.

Feb 27, 2014 7:38 AM in response to ValerieBernhardby gail from maine,Hi Valerie,
The solution you have posted above does not address the problem as stated. With the new Activation Lock logic that is a part of iOS 7, if you change your Apple ID without first deleting the iCloud accounts on your iOS devices, then you will not be able to delete that iCloud account containing the old ID without changing your Apple ID back to the old one first.
Signing out of FaceTime and Messages has no effect on the iCloud issue, which is caused by the Find My iPhone app being signed on with the old ID.

Feb 27, 2014 7:41 AM in response to gail from maineby ValerieBernhard,It worked for me. All iPhone, iMac, and iPad are all messaging away.Together.
Without reverting to old email address. This was imperative since I had to delete my AOL account in which it was associated.

Feb 27, 2014 8:00 AM in response to ValerieBernhardby gail from maine,Again, the issue was not related to messaging - it was a problem with getting the iCloud account under the old ID deleted from the device. Until the Apple ID is changed back to the old ID temporarily, the iCloud account with the old ID cannot be deleted....

Jun 5, 2014 7:25 PM in response to randers4by magilbert12,I tried to delete my old icloud account with my old apple id address but it's asking for my old password I don't remember. I've already changed my apple id and my password and my new password doesn't work. How do I reset my icloud account to reflect my new apple id?

Jun 5, 2014 7:34 PM in response to magilbert12by gail from maine,Hi magilbert,
To delete the iCloud account do the following:
1. Sign into Manage your Apple ID using your new ID and password, and then edit that ID and change it back to the old Apple ID. This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
2. Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll down to the bottom to Delete Account. Type in your current Apple ID password when asked, then follow the prompts to delete.
3. Go back to Manage your Apple ID, and change your Apple ID back to the new one (you may have to verify it again)
4. Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your new ID

Jun 7, 2014 10:58 PM in response to randers4by spud022395,My mom, sister, and I are all sharing an icloud and itunes account right now but the icoud is full and I have not backed up in something like 33 weeks. Support said I was able to use a different ID for my icould and itunes as I am not trying to lose anything that I have purchased up until this point. If I try to sign out and choose delete my account, will that delete it for my sister and mom also?

Jun 8, 2014 6:26 AM in response to spud022395by gail from maine,Hi spud,
Deleting your iCloud account from the device will have no effect on the iCloud account itself nor will it affect any other device with that iCloud account signed on. However, if you set up a new Apple ID and use it for both iCloud and iTunes, there is no way to associate your purchases under the other iTunes ID to your new one.
You can set up a new Apple ID and simply use it for iCloud, Messages, FaceTime, etc., but keep the old ID for iTunes. See the second link in this support article to see how to use one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store (iTunes & App Store) Purchases:
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
