Q: Error Code -1712 in imovie

what is error code -1712 in iMovie. I can't open the application. Have I lost all my work?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    Please re-post in the iMovie forum. If your machine is still covered by AppleCare, you can call them too. Apple does not publish error code messages. As for your work, if you have been backing up (and there is NO excuse not to) then your work is safe.

    If you haven't already done so, restart and try again. If an application won't quit and prevents restarting, force quit. As a last resort, force a shutdown by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Then press it again briefly to start up.

    Hi... works with most applications..

     

    Open Activity Monitor located in /Applications/Utiliites

     

    Select My Processes from the pop up menu on the right.

     

    Type Safari (or other app) in the search field top right corner of the window.

     

    Now select Safari (or other app) and click the red force quit button.

     

    Try launching Safari (or other app).
