Jun 9, 2014 3:02 PM in response to boutselisby Niel,Choose Home from the Finder's Go menu, open the Pictures folder, and drag the iPhoto library item to a drive, partition, or disk image formatted as Mac OS Extended. If you've manually put it somewhere else, you'll need to find it.

Jun 9, 2014 4:25 PM in response to Nielby boutselis, iphoto library in pictures is a blank pice of paper. if I do anything with it I am told I cant use the old iphoto with my maverics opperating system.
but. I don't really understand whatyou mean by dragging it to a drive. as far as I know I only have one drive on my computer so how would I drag it to another drive?
I think I understand dragging it to a partition. You mean to a section like desk top or home. but when I do that it says the same.

Jun 9, 2014 4:27 PM in response to boutselisby Niel,Get an external drive, select it in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, check its format, and if needed, open the Disk Utility in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and erase it with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format; if it's a brand new drive and wasn't specifically intended to be used with Macs, it'll need to be erased first.
