Q: Mails send with Apple Mail get displayed always with font times new roman. Is there are workaround? When does Apple fix this. It´s unprofessional if you have to use mail for business.

It´s hard to believe that Apple hasn´t fixed this problem until now, that every mail I send to a PC get displayed with times new roman.

I´m using Apple Mail for my business mails also. So this is a problem.

Are there any other having the same problem? Does anyone know a professional workaround to get this under control?

As far as the body is concerned the problem isn't how Apple Mail styles the content the problem is that it doesn't. Those font settings shown a few post back only affect how Apple Mail displays emails. Once you press send there is not syle information sent with the body by default. Hence the receiving client uses whatever it's defaults are which happens to be Times New Roman for Outlook.

The best solution I have found is Universal Mailer. http://universalmailer.github.io/UniversalMailer/download.html

They are redoing the mail.app in the next update.

Hope they will finally fix this issue!

It's unbelievable that a company that now even released a movie (Jobs) in which they brag -mention being the first with font's and typography, does not allow their users to choose font's in mail's to style hem as they like.

For anyone from Apple reading this: This problem is not only in mail.app but also in Outlook.app.

    please fix this in Yosemite...

It would be nice to be able to choose how my emails look like and that they don't come out like sh*t on the other end.

    What issue.

You can choose the font you want now, just do it and stop complaining.

When a windows user recieves your email in outlook it will have different letterype's, different size's different spaces and the whole style is messed up.

This is for both Outlook and Mail.app.

That is not under your control, if you send me an email I have no interest in how you want it to look, I have my own settings and if I use any of the dominant mail clients your choices don't count for me. But they will look nice for you.

Is your plan to tell others how they should receive your emails?

    Good luck with that.

    buddy please,

I tested this out with a friend already some time ago.

I send it in century gothic and he will recieve it in century gothic (he prefers times new roman) but the mail is completely distorted. please check the post I made few months ago in this topic you can see what it does and it does always the same.

The complete mail is destorted not only lettertype which is for everyone to choose how to recieve.

The worst is the font size which changes from 9 to 16 or from 14 to 6, which makes the mails completely unreadable.

As I said before, you can't control the display of your email on the recipients machine, if you know of a client that can please tell us.

If you're sending from or to Outlook ........

    True.

But any windows client will not change the font sizes only the types.

If I'm getting replies from customers that my mails are unreadable because the letters are too small while I type in big letters (size 14) but they are recieved in the other end as small (size 6) that is a problem.

    Would you not agree?

I know it doesn't count for all font's but it does for the ones I like.

Since apple is proud of their design and typography sending an email in the font size I like to send it for me and that my reciever would recieve it in a way he can read it shouldn't be a problem imo.

Then choose a mail client that does not do this.

    Or use this http://universalmailer.github.io/UniversalMailer/

I'm asking apple to fix it, I'm not looking for another mail client.

Maybe they are unaware or there is someone who reads this that knows how to fix this than I'd like to hear it.

    That's why I'm posting here.

From what I've found out from others with this problem is that this is an OS problem. It has something to do with the way font's are "build" in IOS compared to Windows.

Why here, Apple have a feedback system and this is not it.

Posting on a user community site is unlikely to get the attention that posting in the right place would.

So don't complain to Apple then, inaction is always a choice.

Sure they are, wouldn't be visible if not.

Printing to a screen s as common as printng to paper.
