Mar 20, 2014 2:08 AM in response to Jarreddby Jonnypz4,I am still having the occasional problem but no ware near as bad as it was. I changed my router to fixed channels and when it drops out now all I do is restart my Apple TV and that seems to cure it for a while. Hope this helps.

Mar 27, 2014 8:00 AM in response to deebrownby JSpagnola,I'm also having this problem. Incredibly frustrating that just a couple days before "upgrading" my Ipad 4 to iOS7 I had no issue and could use airplay for hours...now I'm lucky to get 3 minutes of pandora.

Apr 4, 2014 4:57 PM in response to deebrownby BIGBOI2610,^ Multiple pages of similar occurrences indicates the obvious issue. I as well am ending up crying in a forum about defects. Apple, read. Less than a 5 minute window of a products use is a defect. Your update, it seems, has altered something unintentionally, r&d?

Apr 13, 2014 2:53 AM in response to deebrownby Freetre,Yesterday I bought an Apple TV and airport express, both devices mainly for streaming music. I hooked everything up and got it all working using my iPhone 4S (iOS 7) and iPad 3 (iOS 7).
Airplay from my MacBook and iPhone work perfectly but every so often, at different time intervals, my iPad drops the airplay connection.
It would seem there is not much one can do about it is there? My wifi network is up and running perfectly, my wired devices are connected perfectly... Only my iPad has issues when using airplay to either the airport express or Apple TV.

Apr 15, 2014 1:45 PM in response to Freetreby Freetre,Updated my iPad and since then no dropping of the airplay signal. There are momentary lapses as if the signal is interrupted but the stream continues.

Apr 18, 2014 5:55 AM in response to BIGBOI2610by DrRudi,I have to agree here. I've been "off the grid" for a couple of months - everything was working fine in January, and now in April, the AirPlay connection from my iPad fails at frequent intervals.
And, yes, I updated everything when I came back online.
iPad 2 / Apple TV 2.

Apr 22, 2014 5:39 PM in response to deebrownby Rugby polar bear,I was having the same problem.
I found another post that suggested turning off Bluetooth on my iPad.
Amazingly this seems to have help......for now.

Apr 23, 2014 5:11 AM in response to Rugby polar bearby Joseph Corl,I finally had to switch out my Wi-Fi router from the FIOS actiontech N to a Buffalo AC1750 set up as an Acess Point. Problem totally solved and network speeds many times faster! I hear the Apple Airport Extreme is also a highly recommended upgrade. Not a single drop in 3 months of operation.

Apr 23, 2014 2:30 PM in response to deebrownby Larry Mann,Two things happened at the same time. One of them fixed the Ipad airplay problem. I did the new update on Apple TV and since my router is upstairs, I got a wireless extender downstairs. No more problems.

Jun 14, 2014 3:52 PM in response to dv8orby WHS ict,i'm sure this is not the only reason these drop outs occur, but i fixed an issue in two classrooms.
we hade the appleTV plugged into a projector (via an hdmi-vga converter) into input 1. input 1 is shared with a video input and auto switches in the projector.
for some reason, the projector would drop the hdmi input and switch briefly to the video, then back again. this would make the entire HDMI line drop, so we'd lose audio too.
switching to input 2 ont he projector, which was VGA only, fixed drop outs on two boxes.
switching to wired ethernet fixed drop outs on another box
switching to 5gHz wireless fixed drop outs on the last box
i figure there are multiple issues going on and we need to work through every one to find out what is going on.

Jun 14, 2014 4:29 PM in response to WHS ictby lizdance40,Apple TV is designed to work with HD only. Failure to work with a VGA converter is expected and not a defect on apples part.

Jun 14, 2014 4:46 PM in response to dv8orby lizdance40,Have you checked your internet speed?
Your internet provider may not be supplying enough speed or your modem may be failing.
In a way iOS 7 may be part of the problem. It demands good internet speed and connection to function.
Modems and routers have a life span also.
If your modem and router is older (4-5 years) it may not be keeping up. They don't die a sudden death, they tend to work intermittently requiring resetting often. If you find resetting your router and or modem helps, and it happens more often, it is those devices failing.
Next.... Placement of your router makes a difference.
Placing a router on your top floor and trying to connect in a basement doesn't work. The signal from a router fans up and out. Imagine an invisible cone from the router extending upwards and out. Reception is best when not blocked by metal beams or other wireless signals.
My AirPort Extreme is in my basement and covers my 3 story home to all ends and the yard close to the house.

Jun 14, 2014 10:17 PM in response to lizdance40by WHS ict, gosh some people are so smug. riding their high horses
the adapter is a certified one, designed specifically for use with apple TV, and used all over the world in schools for exaclty this purpose. as you may have noticed, it was not the adapter's fault, but the projectors.
don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Jun 17, 2014 2:37 AM in response to deebrownby J.berglund,Everyone is just guessing, Sure some of you might done something wrong when setting up their apple TV and the tips here might help you. But for most of us, there is no solution.
For me the signal can work fine for weeks and then go back to dropping out in short intervals.
The apple TV seems to be easily disturbed by other signals.
