Q: How to put AirDrop in my favorites on Finder?

Hello,

I would know how can I put AirDrop in my favorites on the side of the Finder?

(Of course AirDrop is compatible with my Macbook.)

Thank you everyone.

    Finder > Preferences > Sidebar

    Select:  AirDrop

To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.

Late 2014 MBP, El Capitan - receives AirDrop, but no AirDrop in finder, or in Settings for Sidebar in Finder. So by your account, if I don't see AirDrop, in the Go dropdown, then it is not supported on my machine.

However, I was able to Airdrop a 4Mb file from my Mac-Mini to the MBP without issue, I just can not initiate an AirDrop from the MBP. So does anyone know of a command line option that flips this feature back on?

To answer the question that was posed, if your system DOES support AirDrop such that you see Go->AirDrop, and it isn't in your Favorites, then with AirDrop open, File->Add to Sidebar. Now it's in your Favorites. At least that's how it works in El Capitan.
