Jun 23, 2014 12:10 AM in response to athomas1by WimHein,From Apple no help... the final solution for me was buying a new TV with HDMI.
And now everything is perfect but it re means a bit sad that something witch was working good for years is not working any more just because of an upgrade.

Jun 23, 2014 10:23 AM in response to William Kucharskiby Gman of Andover,Had same issues where my second monitor was not working correctly. Tried all the usual stuff: zap the power button, pram, safe boot, fix permissions none of which worked. Then low and behold tried unchecking "displays have separate spaces" option within mission control and Bada Bing all is good!
One click away!!!

Jul 30, 2014 1:29 AM in response to dankohnby Jerry Chrisman,Since I used your step here ( sudo mv com.apple.windowserver.plist com.apple.windowserver.plist~orig ), I have only dropped the monitor once in the past week whereas it was doing it 2-3 times a day before. So your suggestion has made the problem bearable for now (knocks on wood).

Jul 30, 2014 1:29 AM in response to Renarikby Jerry Chrisman,This seems to have solved my problem or has greatly reduced the problem happening... Instead of 2-3 times a day of monitors getting dropped waking from sleep it has only happened once in the past week.
- sudo mv com.apple.windowserver.plist com.apple.windowserver.plist~orig
- restart

Oct 21, 2014 2:52 PM in response to athomas1by James Brunner,Got an email from Apple indicating that this issue is now fixed in Yosemite. As there seem to be several variants of this problem, is there anyone
>> who has been using the Amaga hack <<
that can confirm that Yosemite corrects the issue?
I'd rather not try another "upgrade" which may break "the Amaga hack" unless someone can confirm it works.
(Not having extreme faith in Apple at the moment.)

Oct 21, 2014 9:05 PM in response to James Brunnerby James Brunner,Well I gave it a try. Upgrade to Yosemite went flawlessly (took a while, but no issues). No monitor issues. Looks like it's fixed.
Apple - you lost a great deal of trust and goodwill on this one. But it looks like it's finally fixed.
