ApplicationsIf you really installed MPlayerX and not something else, then all you have to do is quit it, drag to the Trash, and empty. But if you downloaded what you thought was MPlayerX from a scam site such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download," then you may have installed malware that isn't so easy to get rid of. Please clarify.

Jun 29, 2014 5:46 AM in response to Linc Davisby l-howarth93,I've tried to drag the MPlayerX icon to the trash/eject icon and it doesn't work. i think i have possibly downloaded the malware by mistake.... how do i correct this - if it's possible ? thank you x

However I did have MPlayerX.zip (9.0MB) download due to clicking on a wrong link, this one is malware.(genuine app is 35.6MB zipped)
Checking MPlayerX.zip with http://virusscan.jotti.org detects Adware.MAC.OSX.ExtensionsInstaller.F
You can use the Free BetterZip Quick Look Generator to view files in an app without unzipping.
