Q: Separate end points from next in point for Chapters

I have a client who has long 2.5 hour videos that they want both a play all button and individual chapter "jump to" links.  I created a story and linked to the chapters but now the client wants a different "end" point than the chapter marker.  It seems the "end" point is too abrupt an ending and they would like to move the end point but keep the next in point.  Wouldn't this create another chapter point?  I cant figure out how to make an out point different from the next in point.

If I understand correctly, you can make the end jump for the first story the the start of the next story which goes a little further.  Does that make any sense?

I think I understand what you are saying.  End of Story A Begins B.  The problem is the client wants the story to end at A but not necessarily start the next story at B.  The idea is trying to end chapter A on a different word than Chapter B starts on but at the same time not affect the Play All video which the Story references.

I'm not sure I see what the problem is.  Do you want to send me the project (without media) and I'll see if I can figure out a solution.

I don't have a project file because I can't figure out how to do what my client is asking.

When you create a chapter point it is both the end of the previous chapter "A" and the beginning of the next chapter "B".  My client wants a different end point to A and have a separate start point to B.

a story can contain multiple markers.  So your first story contains a-b and b -c and your second story starts with b.

Let me take a shot at this...

I did several projects in which we had a "Play  All" and then several stories that changed the order in which the chapters were presented. That was easy, just stack the chapters differently in each story.

If what you want to do is finish clip A and jump like a minute into clip B, that would take an additional chapter mark within clip B. You can have a maximum of 99 markers on a timeline, so within that construct you could chapter mark points (maybe dialogue, maybe visual) anywhere in the timeline to support the Story sequence. The one thing I'm uncertain about is whether you can jump forwards and backwards (in relation to the timeline( easily.

    Hope this helps
