Jul 11, 2014 7:57 AM in response to PowerMacG5by a brody,For image editing there are PowerPC versions of http://www.lemkesoft.com/ GraphicConverter and Microfrontier's ColorIt that are also good. AppleWorks is good as well, but you should save all images as TIFF or JPEG, and not PICT or Appleworks format, as migrating to Intel Macs you'll find AppleWorks has some difficulty with non-portable files:

Places like http://www.welovemacs.com/ and some of the ones on http://www.lowendmac.com/ and my FAQ*:

may be able to help you.

Jan 13, 2015 10:53 AM in response to PowerMacG5by Sp0ngebob1234,Just to confirm, there's no possible way to upgrade the processor from PPC to intel? If there is how much would it cost and how would I go about doing it. Got a G5 gathering dust in the loft and seems a shame to have to chuck it out.

Jan 13, 2015 11:30 AM in response to Sp0ngebob1234by BDAqua,Well, nothing is impossible, but it would require machining the case to install a PC or Mac Pro Logic Board, as well as all new parts, so a few grand more or less.

Or you could stuff a few Mac Minis in the case & snake the cables out through all the empty spaces.

Jan 13, 2015 3:24 PM in response to MichelPMby MichelPM,Why have we all ressurected a two year old post????
This is why we need the moderators to close out/lock posts when there have been no responses, say, after six months.
