Q: powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 does not detect usb stick

My Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 will not detect a usb stick when inserted.

It is compatible because it worked before. I think it might be the PRAM so I am going to restart with 'command + alt + P + M' in case that's it

I carried on looking for solutions after I posted the first message. Resetting the PRAM as I described resolved the USB issue. However, the clock isn't functioning so I need to resolve that next! Many thanks for your help

You need to replace the PRAM battery. Not a cheap solution, but once the machine is older than 4 years, it eventually will need that fixed.
