Jul 18, 2014 9:25 PM in response to Jeremy Winstonby daniel.leyva.mx,I bought my HBS-730 today (7.18.2014) and found the exact same problem: volume is too loud even at the lowest possible level. I tested it, with same results, with both an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5S, and an iPad 4, all of them with iOS 7.1.2. Then I paired it to a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0" with Android 4.1.2 and it worked fairly well (at least, I could lower the volume to satisfaction, though there was some conflict between the volume controls of the tablet and the headset). Finally, I tried it with my PC --Windows 8.1-- and that also went well. By the way, I chatted with an LG representative and he told me that it probably was an issue with the iOS. He also suggested me to send the headset back for a check-up, but, after visiting a few forums, and the tests I've made, I'm pretty sure is indeed a compatibility issue, which, most likely, must be addressed by LG through a patch or something.

Oct 22, 2014 5:58 AM in response to frankpatby JRock3x8,I'm returning mine - the issue I can't get my head around is that this can't be a "TOTAL" problem - if it was LG and/or Apple would have done something about it by now.
I refuse to believe that there are hundreds of thousands of people out there who are having the same issue as we are and are just "dealing with it" or maybe everyone else just likes their music really, really loud. It seems REALLY implausible though.

Nov 12, 2014 9:25 AM in response to Jeremy Winstonby JRock3x8,LG is denying the issue - here's my chat with their support :
12:13 PM Victor: Hello Me. Welcome to LG Electronics U.S.A. Support only. How may I provide you with excellent service today? 12:13 PM Me: volumes does not work on HBS-730 when paired to iPhone 12:13 PM Victor: I am sorry to hear about this. 12:13 PM Victor: Let me see what I can do to assist you with this. 12:14 PM Me: what's the fix? 12:14 PM Victor: Try removing the pairing from the phones bluetooth setting, restart the phone, and re-pair the devices. 12:14 PM Me: nope does not work 12:14 PM Me: this is every single time 12:14 PM Me: there is no other way to pair the headphones to the device 12:15 PM Victor: Have you tested it with another phone ? 12:15 PM Me: this is something that has to be addressed via a software update either through you or apple 12:15 PM Me: do you not know about this? 12:15 PM Me: i don't have another phone but if you google LG HBS iphone volume too loud you will find 12:15 PM Me: 100s of people who have had the same issue 12:15 PM Victor: The headset does not have a firmware that allows update. 12:16 PM Victor: I would recommend asking someone to lend you a phone for testing purposes. 12:16 PM Me: that's really bad 12:16 PM Victor: This is to verify the main factor. 12:16 PM Me: so has lg reached out to apple? 12:16 PM Victor: If it occurs with any phone, you can send the headset in. 12:16 PM Me: I've already returned it to the vendor after i found out it was a systemic problem 12:16 PM Me: I would VERY MUCH like to purchase another one 12:16 PM Me: but I can't until this gets fixed 12:17 PM Victor: As of this, I would recommend testing it with another phone first. This might be an issue with your phone rather than the headet. 12:17 PM Victor: headset* 12:17 PM Me: sir you are not listening 12:17 PM Me: this issue has been verified over and over and over again 12:18 PM Me: I have not found anyone with an LG headset and an iphone that DOES NOT have this issue 12:18 PM Victor: This has not been reported as a known issue from upper management and we have received many customers who are not experiencing this issue. 12:18 PM Me: that is really ridiculous 12:19 PM Me: I have documentation on many forums of people reaching out to your support for help on this issue 12:19 PM Victor: LG has not issued a report on this being an official issue. 12:19 PM Me: and if you're telling me it hasn't been reported as a known issue, then you be the first 12:19 PM Victor: When there is one, you will be able to see it from LG. 12:19 PM Victor: Not from other customers. 12:19 PM Me: it IS a known issue 12:19 PM Me: go get an iphone, go get a headset and prove it for yourself 12:19 PM Victor: If they are experiencing this issue, there are many factors affecting it. 12:19 PM Me: prove it 12:20 PM Victor: Is there anything else I can assist you with today? 12:20 PM Me: you're denying the problem 12:20 PM Me: this is unreal -
Nov 13, 2014 12:17 PM in response to JRock3x8by bingsooShima,Talk about a bad customer service... If they are not aware, then they should be aware of the issue now and trying to tackle it to satisfy customers!

Nov 13, 2014 12:32 PM in response to bingsooShimaby JRock3x8,someone else made the point on another bulletin board that asking a $2/hr support rep in India to care about our problem might be asking a bit much. While I agree with that, that doesn't leave us with a lot of options.

Nov 13, 2014 12:55 PM in response to JRock3x8by bingsooShima,I am trying to send a message via Email, but it does not let me choose the product.
I have tried to write by using both Chrome and Internet Explorer.. LG website itself is disappointing.. I guess I should just use my HBS-730 only with Android products and need to look for another bluetooth headset that works well with iOS devices.. ::sigh::

Nov 13, 2014 1:00 PM in response to bingsooShimaby JRock3x8,the thing that drives me nuts is that the 700 works beautifully, even still to this day. So why in the world would all the models that came AFTER that be broken?
I also encountered that same bug with their website which is why I went to chat.

Nov 13, 2014 1:02 PM in response to JRock3x8by bingsooShima,Oh.. I was not aware that previous models work fine. WTH.. neither HBS-730 nor HBS-750 work well with iOS devices..
I really like HBS-730 (orange).. want to use it with my iPhone 6 and iPad.
I might try to send a message via LG Korean website... Let's see if I get a decent response.

Nov 13, 2014 1:16 PM in response to bingsooShimaby JRock3x8,I have the 700 sitting right here on my desk and it works great.
I have tested the 730 myself and found the volume issue. I also have found forum posts reporting the same issue on the 730, the 750 and the 800.
I think I may also have seen posts about the same problem on Amazon for the 700 so there may be 2 generations of 700 hardware. I believe mine was the earliest.

Dec 6, 2014 5:26 PM in response to Jeremy Winstonby superXF,Hey guys, I think I got a temporary solution. An Equalizer app may help. Details below.
I have the same problem like yours. I got my LG HBS-730 this afternoon, but the volumn with iPhone was too high. After a massive search, someone out there says installing an Equalizer may help. I then tried a free Equalizer app on iTune store, and turn everything to -12db, and now the volumn is acceptable at the lowest level, for me at least. You can check it out. The only problem is that now the music has to be played with the Equalizer app.

Dec 10, 2014 1:26 PM in response to Jeremy Winstonby SuperBrandt,Just wanted to add my $0.02 that I've had the same problem.
I originally purchased a set of HBS-730 headphones that I later learned were knockoffs. Those original headphones, while knockoffs, were great. There were a few issues where it would pair a bit too loudly, but never had an issue listening to music. Was not good for phone calls, though.
I purchased an OEM HBS-730 approximately 2 months ago, and have had the loudness issue, but only with music. Not with phone calls.
I have the following:
iPhone 5
iPad 4
iPod Touch 4g
HP Touchpad running Android
Motorola Droid RAZR M
The headphones work perfectly with the Android devices. They have been too loud with the Apple devices (have not yet tested with my wife's Macbook Pro), but volume has been perfect on phone calls with my iPhone.
I talked with an LG rep as well, and she told me "If the headphones are working fine on the Android products, but not the Apple products, it is not an LG issue, but an Apple issue.
I'm going to give the equalizer option a try based on SuperXF's suggestion.

Dec 21, 2014 7:42 AM in response to SuperBrandtby Tom Oviedo,Same problem. I just sent this note below to their tech support via https://www.lg.com/us/support/message-customer-support.

Sorry I picked the wrong product above. The form wouldn't populate with the correct one. I tried about a dozen times on IE and Chrome. So you guys needs to fix that.
This headset when paired with my iPhone 5S is super loud on the extreme lowest setting. I've read on some Apple forums that LG blames the iPhone iOS or firmware. Well, it's been an issue for over 6 months through multiple iOS updates.
The headset volume is fine when listening to music.
I have this product, https://www.theboom.com/v/products/theboom-w.asp, and the volume works fine on phone calls with the same exact iPhone. So I doubt it's the iPhone / iOS.
I spent like $70 on the product. I really like it. But can't continue to have phone calls blast me in the ears. Please help.

NOTE: I had the same issue others here had. It wouldn't let me choose the right product. So just pick something else, put "LG HBS-730 / iPhone Volume Issue" in the subject line, and let it rip.
Others have posted that LG is denying this being a known issue. So what do you say we make it so? Who is with me?
