Jul 19, 2014 11:32 AM in response to nordheideby Daniel Goyette,I hope FCP X 10.1.3 and Compressor 4.1.3 will get this fix very soon the more i read the more i find i am not alone in this nightmare.
The web start to have may finding when you ask about FCP X 10.1.2 or Compressor 4.1.2 Blu-ray bug or problems and solutions.
Myself have to go to plan B and use Toast Titanium 11.2 since using Compressor make disc utility go crazy after a burn and eject.
Instead of posting i will wait for Apple to fix-it and read the web in case there is a solution in the interval.

Jul 19, 2014 12:45 PM in response to Daniel Goyetteby Ron Bourke,I am now encoding using Compressor and then burning BR discs using Toast Titanium with excellent results. Far better looking image than discs encoded in Toast. (Toast encoded discs tend to mess with black levels.) Plus it's quite easy to burn multiple discs in Toast. Since I already own Toast I think I will probably stick with this workflow.

Jul 19, 2014 11:11 PM in response to MyHobbyPaysby films4pod,I had all the same error messages about invalid format when sharing from FCPX 10.1.2, Compressor 4.0.7. Same error when master file toToast 11. It seems there is something in the master file exporting from FCPX. Tried ProRes 422 and H.264. Got one out to BD by opening the master file in QT 7 and saving, but it only worked on one file. Tried opening in several other apps Mpegstreamclip, etc. and no luck. Finally took the files to someone who has Encore CS6 and he had many new problems he had not seen as well. Apple is beta testing again it seems...

Jul 20, 2014 6:13 AM in response to MyHobbyPaysby Gary Cox1,Using a brand new Powerbook Pro I7, 16 gig ram, 10.9.4 os....with a fresh install of Final Cut Pro X my blue ray burns on a Pioneer BDR-XD05w but it only burns 6-7 minutes of a 41 minute video. No errors but when I go to play it only 6-7 minutes are on it. An additional oddity is portions of the video are also pixelated, looks like bad compression like it is super over compressed. Exporting the same video to hard disk everything looks fine.

Jul 20, 2014 8:55 AM in response to MyHobbyPaysby t1k,I am happy to report after many grueling days of testing & experimenting, the successful burn of two long-projects (including 34 Chapter Markers) to Blu-ray HDD image and Blu-ray disc using the previous version of Compressor, v4.1.1
Keep in mind my machine is a new MBPR with clean install of FCP-X 10.1.2 and Compressor 4.1.2 plus all available upgrades, which out-of-the box consistently failed to Share to Blu-ray or Blu-ray HDD image from FCP-X or Compressor when attempting to burn projects over an hour in length.
So as not to disturb or conflict with the original install of FCP-X & Compressor I copied Compressor 4.1.1 onto my Desktop and ran it from there (this includes CompressorKit.bundle which uses the previous version of CreateDisc).
In both cases a MASTER ProRes 422 file was created first, then Compressor 4.1.1 was launched to create the Blu-Ray HDD image file, and finally Disk Utility was used to burn the image to Blu-ray disc. One project is 1hr 3mins, the other is 1hr 9mins. Both have Chapter Markers and used the moving video background Disc Template: "On Location".
The resulting Blu-ray disc plays perfectly.

Jul 20, 2014 9:02 AM in response to t1kby films4pod,I also reverted back to a MACBOOK PRO with Compressor 4.0.7 and output successfully to a disk image. It was a 90 minute ProRes master from FCPX 10.1.2 with chapter markers. Took 5 hours on the old MacBook 2009 to create the BD image file. So the error is not in the file as stated in the error message, but in something pin the latest update for FCPX 10.1.2 and Compressor. The update also broke Toast 11, which I have used to burn many BDs from ProRes master files. Looks like something in the pro apps codecs or Quicktime. ???
Apple please pay attention to this thread. We need to be able to burn BDs even though you think you don't need to support them.

Jul 20, 2014 10:32 AM in response to MyHobbyPaysby evdh,Hi,
I can still create BD via the share option in FCPX 10.1.2 but the quality is so bad.
The movie is about 02:10:00. So big.
So I switched to Compressor 4. First I created a ProResHQ mov file and import it in Compressor 4. But than I end up with a file of 1.6GB. Really bad quality.
Now I tries Compressor 3.5.3 and the result is a file of 3.6GB. Beter but stil no 21GB like the estimation tells me.
For more on this issue : Re: FCPX --> ProRessHQ --> Compressor 4 --> Blu-ray .264 of 1.69GB
Thanks for helping...

Jul 21, 2014 7:07 AM in response to films4podby Gary Cox1,I wonder if anyone contacted Roxio regarding their opinion since Toast 11 is also broken? Perhaps they can feed back to Apple to get more pressure on them to fix this or at least more information to assist them in finding the root cause. I'm pretty much dead in the water without the ability to burn a Blue Ray, the same as many others are...

Jul 21, 2014 7:27 AM in response to MyHobbyPaysby evdh,My solution for the moment...
For the moment I export from FCXP 10.1.2 via Compressor 4 to ProResHQ (the full length 02:10:00) and bring it in Adobe Encore. That still works. -
Jul 21, 2014 9:30 AM in response to evdhby mclarenf1,I have finally had success. Below is the email Apple Engineering sent me to try. I followed those settings, then gave Compressor the same 2 hour ProRes file with charter markers and it compressed it and Create Disc also gave me a successful disc image. FINALLY!!! I hope this works for all of you too.
1. Open Compressor.
2. In the Settings pane (press Shift-Command-1 if it’s hidden), choose New Setting from the Add pop-up menu (the plus sign in the lower left corner of the Compressor window).
3. A sheet will appear to configure the properties of the Setting.
4. In the dialog that appears, choose MPEG-2 from the Format pop-up menu, enter “Blu-Ray MPEG-2” for the name and an optional description for the setting, and then click OK.
5. The new setting appears in the Custom area of the Settings pane.
6. Click on the new setting to select it.
7. If necessary, click the Inspector button in the upper-right corner of the Compressor window to reveal the inspector pane.
8. In the “General” inspector of the setting, in the General Properties section, choose “Blu-Ray” from the “Stream Usage” pop-up menu.
9. In the Settings pane click the Audio Formats disclosure triangle to display the list of formats if it’s not already visible.
10. Hold down Option and drag the “AC3 File” format to the Custom heading of the Settings pane.
11. Import your source file into Compressor or send your Final Cut Pro X project to Compressor.
12. Apply both the “Blu-Ray MPEG-2” and the “AC3 File” settings to the source file in the job.
13. Click on the source file name in the job to select the job.
14. If necessary, click the Inspector button in the upper-right corner of the Compressor window to reveal the inspector pane to view the Job properties.
15. In the Action section of the Job inspector, choose “Create Blu-ray disc” from the “When done” pop-up menu.
16. To burn a Blu-ray disc, set the “Output Device” pop-up menu to your Blu-ray burner. In this case, set it to Hard Drive to create a disk image as we’ve been doing.
17. Click the Start Batch button in the lower-right corner of the batch area.

Jul 21, 2014 10:02 AM in response to mclarenf1by nordheide,Of course this will work - converting to mpg2 is and was not the problem.
If you need h264 - and this is the better codec for good quality with less data -
it is not possible now for many of us.
But this mpg2-workaround is the only apple solution?
-
Jul 21, 2014 10:17 AM in response to nordheideby Gary Cox1,I would agree it doesn't seem like a very good solution to downgrade to mpeg2 compression to get it to work and loose some in quality.
