Jul 18, 2014 5:06 AM in response to Alexy.Cby Jan Hedlund,Hi,
Have internal wires/connectors been checked (disconnected and reconnected)? Also, what about the speaker jack? The contact that breaks the circuit to the internal speaker when external headphones/speakers are connected may have become corroded. If so, try a small amount of an appropriate contact cleaner. Any change in sound quality when headphones or external speakers are in use?

Jul 20, 2014 3:13 AM in response to Alexy.Cby Jan Hedlund,In order to avoid any additional complication, try to connect just headphones or appropriate external speakers to this mono sound output jack. If you have access to another small speaker with the correct impedance, you may want to temporarily replace the existing internal speaker for a test. Bad (leaking/bulging/cracked) electrolytic capacitors could also in certain cases affect sound circuits.

Jul 21, 2014 12:45 AM in response to Jan Hedlundby Alexy.C,After doing some tests, I have found that the speakers crackle when a headphone jack is plugged in. I think the latch that shuts off the internal speakers has corroded. It has been in a loft for 11yrs. Thanks
