Why does Mavericks (iPhoto, Digital Pictures, etc.) not recognize my new Canon EOS 6D camera? I cannot download photos on my computer. iPhoto for example does not even see that there is a camera connected ...

Welcome to the Support Communities! The EOS 6D camera is listed as a compatible model for Mavericks with iPhoto 9.4.3 or later. When you open your iPhoto application and click on iPhoto, About iPhoto in the menu bar, what version does it show? You can download the latest version of the software from the Mac App Store. Once you have downloaded the latest version of the iPhoto software and the Digital Camera RAW update, restart your computer and your camera should be recognized.
