Q: Netflix won´t open on my Apple TV

Netflix won´t work on my Apple TV. I´ve tried everything from restarting it to reset it, but whenever I try to access netflix it just says "connecting to Netflix" and then goes right back to the home screen after a few seconds. The WIFI connection is strong, and all the other apps works just fine. I´ve tried searching for the solution in here, but it doesn't seem like anyone else has this problem. Do anyone know how this can be fixed? Netflix is supported in my country, and it works perfectly on my computer using the same WIFI connection. The software on the ATV is up to date.

I will definitely try it as soon as I can get my hands on a cable that is long enough. But the weird thing is that Netflix worked fine for a month or so until it just didn't want to open. I didn't have any problems with streaming any content until the channel stopped working. It doesn't make any sense.

Me too- there's also another thread with the same problem. I just set up my apple TV after about a month in a new house (Worked fine at old place), and all other internet using apps work (e.g. youtube) but when you click on netflix it tries to load, then jut goes back to home screen. I tried restarting, resetting, nothing.

I just called Netflix- its a problem that has flagged up this morning and they are trying to fix it. He said that they are trying to take down the details of as many people as possible with the issue- I got the impression the more people they know have the issue the faster they will try to fix it...

ATV2 and ATV3 may behave differently.

The list of updates is http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4448

There have been issues in the past where the ATV was updated but the corresponding Netflix update was behind schedule. One suggestion would be to contact Netflix Tech Support (via chat or phone). They also have the ability to reset the cached information of a specific device (ATV or other registered clients under a specific Netflix login).

If the ATV changed what is sending to Netflix between software updates and Netflix do not see comprehend the changes, it will stop the ATV/Netflix from working completely, or some functions may not work.

The laptop, iDevice and ATV versions follow different versions of the Netflix client. Things may work on a laptop (MS Silverlight in most cases, but may not work via HTML5 for ATV).
